The Batang Anai River is one of the destinations for rafting lovers. This river is one of the longest rivers in West Sumatra as far as 69.32 km. The headwaters are at the top of Mount Merapi. The watershed of the Batang Anai River covers an area of 712.45 km with 24 sub-watersheds. The Batang Anai Watershed crosses several urban districts in the upper reaches of the river, namely the Tanah Datar Regency and the Padang Panjang City; in the central part of the district of Padang Pariaman; downstream are in the district of Padang Pariaman and the city of Padang. The population of West Sumatra is very dependent on this river because there is an irrigation dam that irrigates the rice fields

Apart from being used as irrigation for rice fields, Batang Anai river flow is recommended for white water rafting activities. The 4.8 km short-distance rafting package is a favorite rafting package for visitors. This package is recommended for families, communities and companies which are beginners category. The duration of river rafting is 1.5 – 2 hours. The meeting point for visiting the LA Rafting post, Nagari Pasie Laweh, Lubuk Alung District, Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra. From the meeting point, you will go to the starting point by truck for about 30 minutes.

A medium-distance rafting package of 8.5 km with a rafting duration of 3-4 hours. The meeting point is the same as for short-haul packages. The travel time from the meeting point to the starting point is about 1 hour 20 minutes.

The long distance package is 15 km with a travel time of 4-5 hours. This package is recommended for rafting athletes to test their abilities. There are 3-4 times of break time depending on the situation and field conditions.

The rapids level of the Batang Anai river is 2-3 depending on the rainfall. If the rainfall is high, the level of the rapids can be more than 3. The rafting location only takes 30 minutes from Minangkabau International Airport.
